The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO 2 is the highly anticipated successor to one of the most popular audiophile turntables in history. Introduced in 2024, the EVO 2 "borrows" premium engineering from higher-end models to deliver a more refined, lower-resonance listening experience. It retains the iconic 8.6-inch one-piece carbon fiber tonearm but upgrades the bearing block to a massive CNC-milled aluminum construction, providing even greater tracking precision and stability.
A major technical leap in the EVO 2 is the move to a heavy, 1.7kg TPE-damped aluminum platter. Unlike the previous steel platter, this non-magnetic design eliminates interference with Moving Coil (MC) cartridges and drastically reduces "ringing" for a blacker, quieter background. Complemented by the new Pick it MM EVO cartridge (custom-tuned by Ortofon) and height-adjustable dampened feet, the EVO 2 offers an effortless, high-resolution soundstage that punches far above its weight class.
